My name is Violet Gibson, the creator of this website, and here is a little bit about myself.
I would describe myself as somewhat of a people’s person, having had the privilege of meeting many amazing people in my life. In most of the places I have been to, I have always found it reassuring how personable and warm people are. Isn’t it just incredible? We are all so different in age, gender and backgrounds, yet regardless of where we come from, our primal need is to be around each other, to look out for each other and share. As I make my forays into the blogosphere, I am full of hope and expectation, a feeling that we will soon be hitting it off here. Enough with the digression. Let us now talk about myself and my reasons for being here, shall we?
I am 45 years old and I have lived in Los Angeles for most of my life. I’m the proud mother of two lovely and playful girls aged 10 and 14. I’m currently divorced, and I take great pleasure in taking care of my two girls who at their age are as lively as only teenagers can be!
Everything about beauty seems to fascinate me. When I see a well-groomed woman walking down the street, I always marvel at her beauty. When I see someone with long nails, I go into overdrive, fantasizing about how those nails would look with a slightly different touch. Whenever I see a middle-aged man walking down the street in that familiar slump of a tired soul, I think about the spa services that he could do with. Sometime back, I saw a forty-something old woman with a weary demeanor and furrowed face, and I got thinking; she is so beautiful, yet the rigors of life have taken a toll on her. She has forgotten how it feels to be alive. She does not feel great in her own body. Oh how I wished I could offer her advice on massages that would sooth her and bring life to those eyes and a glow to that face!
In a nutshell, I have always loved to style people, and I have done it in my mind ever since I was a little girl! Manicures, pedicures and anything to do with appearances are my forte. Don’t you find it amazing what a simple massage or even a dip in a warm tub can do? Well, I do. I find it great that you can head to a massage parlor after a long day of work, feeling tired and depressed and come out 30 minutes later with the smile of a champ and a gait that says it all.
I have been working in the beauty and spa industry since the year 2000 and have seen the revolution of beauty, I have seen its power, and I have reveled in making people happy. 15 years on, I am still here, and my greatest pleasure remains the same: putting a smile on the faces of the citizen, the corporate executive, the dashing millennial, the middle-aged wife and the astonishing model. I now find myself blogging about beauty, hair care and lifestyle and boy, I’m I loving it!
Now, I believe I am at the crossroads. The education I have received in the last 15 years has been invaluable. The only thing left for me is to now get me my very own spa (Incredible, I know!). It has always been my dream, and my sights are firmly focused. After all, it is the essence of living the dream, no? In the coming days and months, we are going to share a lot more on beauty, and I am sure we will all get to enjoy the interaction.
Thank you for stopping by.
